GHA110: Training on Assessment of Postharvest Losses
Winrock International and Ghana’s Department of Agriculture- South Tongu District requests the support of a Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer for a 15-day volunteer assignment (including travel) located in Sogakope in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region. The volunteer will train 32 Agriculture Extension Staff on how to assess and reduce postharvest losses of rice, pepper, okra, maize, mango, cashew, and cassava; and assist staff to develop a template for estimating the postharvest losses of the respective crops. The training will address the skills the staff needs to provide reliable reports on postharvest losses of the crops in the district and assist farmers to manage their postharvest losses with well-targeted efforts and demand-driven appropriate technologies. All volunteer expenses are paid through the USAID Farmer-to-Farmer program and coordinated by Winrock International. Jennifer.firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
