Community Food Strategies is an initiative of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) that builds alignment across new, emerging and existing food systems initiatives, weaving together local activities into a statewide plan that reflects local priorities.
Program Associate Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide oversight and support of the development of a new statewide Farm-to-Fork Action Plan as part of the Community Food Strategies Initiative (CFS) that is a continuation of the work led by the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) in 2010. The individual in this position will assist the Program Coordinator in planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating various elements of the F2F2 Project and associated programmatic operations. Other duties include cultivation of statewide partnerships and facilitation of local community food council development. This individual will support ongoing community-based local food systems work of CEFS by contributing to the work of the Community Food Strategies team to complete the Farm-to-Fork Action Plan Project and support a network of food council development across North Carolina.
Responsibilities will include:
-Managing the communication plans (internal and external) of CFS team.
-Managing stakeholder relationships.
-Working with the Program Coordinator to identify and develop relationships with funding agencies / work with project management team to secure fundraising opportunities for future program support
-Capturing and sharing the narrative of this project via the web and periodic publications or reports.
-Participating in data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
-Working with the Program Coordinator to plan and coordinate two annual gatherings of food councils in NC.
-Facilitation of select food councils developing across North Carolina
