The Mid-South Organic Conference will be held at Arkansas State University Mid-South in West Memphis, AR. The event will be a mutual opportunity for farmers, landowners and agents from around the Mid-South to learn and share from their experiences and knowledge of organic farming.
Speakers include Ramkrishnan (Ram) Balasubramanian and Brie Medina from Quality Certification Services (QCS) out of Gainesville, FL. Ram will be presenting their “Organic 101” course, explaining the certification process, what needs to be certified, NOP labeling requirements, etc. QCS is the certification body of Florida Certified Organic Growers and Consumers Inc., a nonprofit organization that began certifying organic growers in 1987 and received its USDA accreditation in 2001. QCS is the largest certification agency on the eastern seaboard.
