​​​​​​​Upcoming Grower Training (Various Locations in AR)

All Farms Growing, Harvesting, Packing, or Holding Produce for Any Market Should be Trained in PRODUCE SAFETY. 

Cornell University's Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) has developed a national produce safety training program to prepare fresh produce growers with the information needed to be in compliance.

Training locations and dates are listed below. You must register to be able to attend.

Upcoming training dates and locations:

  • Aug. 14: Northeast - Jonesboro at ASU Business Incubator Center
  • Aug. 21: Southwest - Texarkana at Southwest Center for Texas Extension
  • Sept. 5: West - Fort Smith/Barling at Farmers Bank in Barling
  • Sept. 25: Central - Malvern at Hot Spring County 4H Center
  • Oct. 9: Central - Perryville at Heifer Ranch
  • Oct. 30: South - El Dorado at Murphy Arts District
  • Nov. 7: East - West Memphis at location to be determined

On-Farm Readiness Reviews

On-Farm Assistance Before Inspection


After attending a Grower Training course, farmers can request a voluntary OFRR with one of the Extension Produce Safety Team Members. The OFFR will help farms prepare prior to a regulatory inspection.

Inspection Team


The Arkansas Agriculture Department will initiate inspections of farms that are subject to the FDA FSMA Produce Safety Rule starting in the Spring of 2019. Attend a Grower Training to learn more about the FSMA Produce Safety Rule or contact the Agriculture Department by email or at 501-225-1598.
