Top experts from Mississippi State University Extension Service, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station; Alcorn State University Extension Program, National Center for Appropriate Technology, USDA Risk Management Agency, and other partners will provide participant handouts, presentations, and lead Q&A sessions.
The Cotton Warehouse Farmers Market and the Start 2 Finish Community Farms – “Happy Foods Project” will be hosting this event. TheCotton Warehouse Farmers Market is a new business in Batesville that sells produce from both local vendors as well as produce from other areas of Mississippi. The market is located in a highly-visible, covered warehouse with stalls provided for local vendors, a Mississippi regionally produced counter, and available restrooms. A great family experience, whether you want to simply buy local produce, browses the local farmer’s stands, or just come to enjoy the family atmosphere. The Start 2 Finish Community Farms – “Happy Foods Project” is a healthy food project that provides a healthy food option for people in the rural areas of the Mississippi Delta. They operate a mobile food truck and provide an outlet for small farmers to sell their produce.
