The September 18th field day will be hosted at Cotton Warehouse Farmers Market in Batesville, Miss. The Cotton Warehouse Farmers Market and the Start 2 Finish Community Farms – “Happy Foods Project” will be hosting this event. The Cotton Warehouse Farmers Market is a new business in Batesville that sells produce from both local vendors as well as produce from other areas of Mississippi. The market is located in a highly-visible, covered warehouse with stalls provided for local vendors, a Mississippi regionally produced counter, and available restrooms. A great family experience, whether you want to simply buy local produce, browses the local farmer’s stands, or just come to enjoy the family atmosphere. The Start 2 Finish Community Farms – “Happy Foods Project” is a healthy food project that provides a healthy food option for people in the rural areas of the Mississippi Delta. They operate a mobile food truck and provide an outlet for small farmers to sell their produce.(Pre-registration is required!)
Topics will include: "Selling to Institutions: Specialty Food Stores; Certification Options and Assistance: USDA Organic Program; and Legal Assistance to Farmers". The Mississippi State University Extension Service, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, Alcorn State University Extension Program, University of Mississippi Law School Transactional Clinic, Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, and other partners provide support for field days/training sessions.

The Cotton Warehouse Farmers Market is located at 550 Hwy 6 West, Batesville, MS 38606. Take the Batesville Exit off I-55. Head west on Hwy 6 and go over the head bridge.
