It's Back! Let's Make Sure it Gets Funded!
Today Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Representative Tim Walz (D, MN-1) reintroduced the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunity Act. This bill was originally introduced in the previous Congress and was supported by 37 Senators and Representatives and endorsed by over 170 organizations. This important bill is designed to recruit and support a next generation of farmers by increasing access to credit; providing effective training and mentoring; enhancing support for conservation; and assisting with starting and supporting the success of profitable enterprises.
We urge your organization to endorse this bill by signing on here. So far this bill has inspired support from both republican and democratic Senate and House members.
