Pioneer a New Farming Operation [AR]

Want to pioneer a new farming operation with a mission?

This group aims to progressively develop a 260 acre, conventional farm currently growing rice, soybeans and wheat into an organic vegetable operation. Located in Conway, Arkansas, this will be a multi-year endeavor and a learning journey that supports a larger mission.

The mission is to spread the knowledge that true health is achievable through proper nutrition. Their aim is to educate people and support their transition to healthy foods.  The economic model is agriculture based, which provides the nutrition needed to heal broken bodies.

For the farm in Arkansas, they envision a diverse, potentially mechanized (over time) operation but recognize the need to start small and build.  Through other farming interests, this family has relationships with major, national retailers and food wholesalers but this operation could have the potential for more direct sales to consumers as well.

They are seeking candidates for a production supervisor or production manager position.  The successful candidate will have, at a minimum, basic know how to develop the production methods and techniques of organic vegetable farming and the practical orientation to put them into practice. Ideal candidates will have:

  • a passion for agriculture,
  • strong work ethic that values physical work,
  • ability to work with and supervise others (crew management),
  • learning agility and aptitude to quickly recover from mistakes,
  • ability to balance thinking and doing … in order to get things done well,
  • independence to take appropriate decisions and manage risks,
  • openness to communicate and share information,
  • character of honesty, integrity and orientation toward trust building.

Owners of this operation have resources to invest, experience in the demand and supply side of agriculture and an interest in partnering with self-motivated people who want to learn and grow with them.

Compensation commensurate with your experience and ability to drive our production and productiveness.  Part of the compensation package could be housing available in Conway.
