Team Members Needed for FINI Program in Tenn. and Miss.


AARP Foundation and Wholesome Wave* are now hiring team members in Tennessee and Mississippi to implement the Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive grant program (FINI). Working together with government, healthcare and a national retail grocery chain, this program embodies AARP Foundation’s food security strategy to develop sustainable, long-term public health and market-driven solutions to help fight food insecurity and malnutrition, and furthermore holds the potential to be replicated in communities across the nation.

Below is a summary of the positions available.

Field Program Managers (2 positions available – one in each state):

The Field Program Manager will oversee the implementation of the FINI grant in Tennessee or Mississippi, as well as the day-to-day work of additional team members. This is a full-time, salaried position with AARP Foundation and requires significant travel within assigned state.

Locations: Jackson, MS and Memphis or Nashville, TN

 

Volunteer and Outreach Coordinators (2 positions available – one in each state):

The Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator will develop and lead a statewide volunteer network and lead strategy and implementation of outreach about FINI in local communities. This is a full-time hourly contracted position (40hrs/week) with AARP Foundation and requires extensive travel within assigned state.

Locations: Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN

 

VISTA (2 positions available – one in each state):

This person will convene community leaders and members, as well as SNAP stakeholders/direct service providers, to address food access barriers and contribute to the development of a statewide network of volunteers to support the FINI grant program. The sponsoring organization for this VISTA position is AARP Foundation, through a contract with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger. The position runs from July 24, 2015- July 23, 2016.

Locations - Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN

 

Project Coordinators (2 positions available – one in each state):

This person will provide training and technical assistance for the implementation and expansion of incentive programs in participating farmers markets and help execute an integrated communications and marketing campaign.

This is a part-time position (20-30 hrs/week) with Wholesome Wave and requires extensive travel within assigned state.
