Job Opening: Farmstead Ferments Farmer's Market & Events Team Member


Part time job opportunity with Farmstead Ferments, a fermented foods business based out of Charlottesville, Virginia. 

Who we are: Farmstead Ferments is a small farm and value-added operation located near Charlottesville, VA. We create raw, naturally-fermented foods and beverages made by hand in small batches featuring sustainably-grown, fresh ingredients procured from our own gardens as well as from local farmers.

Job Title: Farmer’s Market & Events Team Member 

Job Description: We are seeking an energetic team member to join our fast growing fermentation business. Specifically we are looking for a team member to represent Farmstead Ferments at local events (artisan food fairs, wine festivals, etc.) and farmer’s markets. The Farmer’s Market & Events Team Member would ideally have an interest in fermented foods and will be excited to share the love for these passions with customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate, dependable, creative and resourceful person to join the team. Positive attitude and customer service skills are a must.

The position will be 5-12 hours a week, depending on the farmer’s markets and event schedule. Mostly weekends.

Responsibilities include: packing for events, setting up Farmstead Ferments booth at events & markets, representing the business in front of customers, selling the product, educating customers on the benefits of fermented foods, packing up the booth and returning it to FF headquarters.

Requirements: Available 5-10 hours per week, able to lift 50 lbs, able to interact with people in a friendly and positive manner in a busy environment, problem-solving skills, knowledge of fermented foods (or at least an interest in learning!), able to work independently and as a team, must have own transportation
