Southern SAWG is pleased to announce Amanda Hodges as our new Outreach and Development Director. She will start work the week of our annual conference this January. Amanda brings a special combination of skills and experience to the position, as well as a love for family farming in the South.
Having grown up on a family farm in north central North Carolina, after graduating from East Carolina University with a Marketing Management degree, Amanda moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked her way up the corporate ladder of an international advertising agency over the course of 20 years. Her career included a strong sales foundation evolving into sales management and then into executive leadership. Upon spearheading the new media services unit of the business, after three years overseeing the team providing recruitment marketing services to organizations in various industries, Amanda decided to move back to N.C. in 2014.
Once back home she purchased a small marketing business in Greensboro. Several years at this did not fulfill the desire to be more connected to meaningful work and the yearning to really ‘be back home on the farm’ kept calling. Discovering the Outreach and Marketing Director opportunity at Southern SAWG was the perfect crossroads of prosperity and purpose for Amanda. In addition to reacquainting herself with a rural/small farm lifestyle (her family now operates a cattle farm), she also spends time volunteering for veteran’s organizations in the area.
