Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) personnel in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Mississippi will receive training on organic and hoophouse production through a project recently approved by the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program. The training, developed and delivered by Southern SAWG over the next year, is designed to help the USDA agency implement newly introduced cost-share programs and provide technical assistance to new farmer clientele.
Two training events will be held in each of the three states. They will focus on practical information and feature trainers with personal experience in organic and hoophouse production. A portion of each training event will be held on a working farm.
