The 2016 Farm-to-Table Conference, December 7-8 (with farm tours Dec 6) invites you to join other producers, buyers, chefs, food historians, scientists, community development specialists -- an ecology of food systems thinkers and groundbreakers -- in this year's conversation around local food and emerging innovation.
The conference's goal is to inspire, train, and make connections among producers and markets and to recognize and encourage emerging communities. In addition to food systems speakers, scholars, and panels, specific conversations will address (and build) military veteran, and beginning farmers and ranchers communities. Technical themes include training in whole farm budgets, soil health management, and finding leverage in your market niche.
For producers, there is a Producer-Buyer networking event the evening of the 7th. Bring samples and tell your story.
If that doesn't whet your appetite, here are six good reasons to take your place at the Virginia Farm to Table Conference.
Registration is through Blue Ridge Community College, the site of the conference, and can be tricky. Give Liz a call for guidance and more information. Liz Kirchner, 540 -432-6029 x 107
