FOOD SYSTEMS
Southern SAWG helps
groups plan, design and develop effective community food systems
projects. Since 2003, we have provided groups with:

Organizational development
evaluation and advice

Community food assessment

Facilitation of networking and
partnership opportunities

Identification of potential
funding sources and other needed resources

Assistance in developing a
USDA Community Food Project Grant Proposal
Organizations are chosen through a competitive process.
Generally Southern SAWG issues a call for applications in late summer
or early fall, and choses a small number of organizations to assist
each year, with 1-2 years of assistance beginning in late fall or early
winter.
