And Now....On the House!

The Senate is expected to vote on the Farm Bill this evening.  It seems as if a little maneuvering took place over the weekend to put together a Senate version of the Farm Bill.  And, this bill includes cuts in SNAP benefits and the consolidation of conservations programs to save money.  There is still work to do! The House will begin its consideration of the Farm Bill starting the week of June 17th.  As of now, we do not have a list of House amendments and cannot tell for sure if their amendments will mirror the one’s passed in the Senate.  We expect to have more information as the week progresses and will definitely keep you posted.

Just a reminder, we will host a policy call on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11am CDT/12 EDT to discuss the details on what happened in the Senate and grassroots strategies for the House.  Please join the call by dialing 1-800-977-8002 participant code: 577467#.  We look forward to hearing from you!
