HOUSE LEADERS WHIPPING FARM PLAN. House GOP leaders are getting rank-and file members to agree to a growing bipartisan consensus to extend farm and nutrition programs for one year, acknowledging that they don’t have the votes, or possibly the desire, to bring a five-year reauthorization to the floor. The House could vote on the plan on Wednesday. It would include disaster aid for farmers affected by the national drought, something more and more lawmakers have been clamoring for.
